Pitch Response

I was extremely intrigued by Ryan’s post. I think choosing google earth is such a smart and unique way to bring his intention for his pitch to life. Though Ryan calls one place home, he gave the audience the opportunity to go anywhere on the map. That place could be home, a favorite restaurant, a desired travel destination, anything. His link to google earth is a gateway to the world at your fingertips. The reason I was so intrigued by Ryans post was because today I felt especially homesick. When I got to his page, and clicked on the link, I put in my address and was able to explore places I love back home. Additionally, as a huge travel lover, I got to type in some of my favorite travel destinations around the world. Reading Ryans pitch and using his life completely allowed me to escape from reality. Unit 2 Project Reflection

I am now understanding analysis/arguments differently and more thoroughly, as I feel this unit has taught me how to read between the lines even more than the last unit. I feel like everyone's main focus is the climax of a story, or the end result. This unit has taught me how to analyze a storyline, and how the rising action and the lessons learned along the way are the true importance of the story. Additionally, I feel I have become more immersed in perspective. Since discourse was a running theme throughout the unit, I feel understanding point of view was emphasized the most. There are two readings specifically that I feel have stuck with me this unit. First, the article about science and myths behind breakfast food. I feel this article emphasizes the spread of misinformation and proves how quick people are to make fake accusations of things they hear/ see online. The other reading that stuck with me this unit was the article about how fitness trainers are doing more harm than good...

Unit 2 Project

Language and culture are intertwined aspects of human existence, influencing how we communicate, perceive the world, and build relationships. France and the United States are two countries with rich linguistic and cultural traditions, making a comparative analysis of discourse between French and American people fascinating. This essay explores the complexities of communication, conversational norms, and the impact of cultural values on discourse between these two nations. By examining linguistic and sociocultural factors, we will gain a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences that shape discourse in French and American societies. As the first generation of my family in the United States, my family originated from Europe. Being so, many European norms were present in my upbringing. The majority of my family fluently speaks French, and celebrate their love and immersion of French culture. Being so, I have always been surrounded and taught by french culture, and plays a h...
